Piscis is a dating service operated by Piscis legal entity to be confirmed. This Privacy Policy applies to the Piscis website, waitlist, mobile applications, and related services. It should be read together with our Terms of Service. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
01
Information we collect
Account and waitlist information
We collect identifiers such as your phone number and email address. Your phone number is used to send a one-time sign-in code. We also record your waitlist status, signup time, and activation status.
Profile information you provide
This may include your name, date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, photos, prompts, job, school, neighborhood, languages, interests, relationship goals, and matching preferences. Some optional fields can reveal sensitive information, including ethnicity, religious beliefs, political views, sexual orientation, health-related lifestyle choices, children, and family plans. You choose whether to provide optional fields and can hide supported fields from your public profile.
Location
If you choose to provide location, we use it to identify your neighborhood and suggest people and date places nearby. The website may request your device or browser location with your permission. Piscis rounds location before storing it and does not track your movements in the background. Map and place providers may receive location coordinates needed to return a result.
Verification, messages, and activity
We collect profile-verification selfies when you choose to verify. Verification selfies are not displayed on your profile. We also process messages, including voice messages, likes, passes, matches, date proposals, saved venues, reports, blocks, and other actions you take in the service.
Device, usage, and technical information
We process device and browser type, IP address, request and error logs, push notification tokens, and product events such as screens or features used. Piscis analytics are linked to an internal account identifier but are designed not to include message content, report text, raw search text, or precise coordinates.
02
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the website, waitlist, profiles, matching, messaging, date planning, place suggestions, and notifications.
- Authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, process purchases, and provide customer support.
- Personalize recommendations based on preferences, distance, activity, and compatibility signals.
- Review reports, verify profiles, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our rules, and protect people.
- Diagnose errors, measure feature performance, and improve Piscis.
- Send account, waitlist, launch, safety, and service communications. We send marketing messages only where allowed and provide the controls required by applicable law.
- Meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information. We do not show third-party advertising or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
03
Legal bases for processing
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the basis that fits the specific use:
- Contract. Processing needed to create an account and provide the service you request.
- Legitimate interests. Operating, securing, and improving Piscis, preventing abuse, and protecting users, balanced against your rights.
- Consent. Optional processing such as device permissions or certain communications where consent is required. You may withdraw consent, although earlier processing remains lawful.
- Legal obligation. Processing needed to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, or protect legal rights.
04
When information is shared
Other members
After activation, other members can see the profile information you make visible and actions directed to them, such as likes, messages, and date proposals. Waitlist profiles are not shown to other members before activation.

We disclose only the information reasonably needed for providers to perform services for Piscis. Current categories include:
- Supabase for authentication, database hosting, realtime features, and file storage.
- Twilio for one-time verification text messages.
- Google for maps, geocoding, venue, and place information.
- Expo for app delivery and push notifications.
- Sentry for error and crash reporting.
- PostHog for product analytics processed from our server.

Legal, safety, and business events
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate abuse, protect a person from harm, enforce our agreements, or complete a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale. A successor must handle personal information consistently with applicable law and this policy.
05
Cookies and browser storage
The Piscis website uses a small amount of first-party browser storage:
- Authentication storage. Supabase stores the signed-in session in
localStorageso you can remain signed in and complete the waitlist flow. - Language preference. A first-party
localecookie remembers a language you explicitly select for up to one year.
We do not currently set first-party advertising cookies. Embedded providers such as Google Maps may use cookies, local storage, network identifiers, or similar technologies under their own terms when their services load. Browser settings can clear or block storage, but blocking authentication storage may prevent account features from working.
06
How long we keep information
We generally keep account information while the account is active or on the waitlist and as needed to provide the service. Retention can vary for security logs, provider backups, financial records, legal obligations, and disputes.
After you delete your account, data is retained for up to 30 days before permanent removal. During this period, the account cannot sign in, the profile is not visible, and matches and conversations are removed from other members' apps. This period preserves evidence when serious misconduct is reported after an interaction.
Safety reports and evidence connected to them may be retained for up to 12 months after account deletion. This can include the report, the conversation it concerns, basic identity details, and the phone number associated with the account. Access is restricted. We may retain it longer when required for child-safety review, legal compliance, or legal claims.
If an account was never reported, deletion after the 30-day period removes its profile, photos, messages, matches, preferences, and files. We may retain a non-identifying record that deletion occurred. Reports you submitted about others can remain in the safety queue with your identity removed.
07
Your choices and privacy rights
Settings in Piscis let you edit profile information, control the visibility of supported fields, manage notifications, pause your profile, block members, and delete your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, or delete personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; appeal a denied request; or complain to a privacy regulator. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Submit a request through available in-app controls or contact us. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. An authorized agent may submit a request where local law permits. Some information can be retained where an exception applies, including safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and legal claims.
08
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings in the app. Before the app is available to you, contact us to delete a waitlist account. Deletion is permanent, subject to the limited retention described above.
Deleting a Piscis account does not cancel an App Store or Play Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through the store that processed the purchase.
09
International processing
Piscis and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use recognized legal mechanisms and contractual safeguards for international transfers. Local privacy rights continue to apply as provided by law.
10
Age restriction
Piscis is only for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the service. We remove underage accounts and may retain limited evidence connected to an underage or child-safety report where necessary to protect people or comply with law.
11
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information we process. These include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, restricted safety-review access, and practices intended to limit unnecessary collection.
No system is perfectly secure. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
12
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Piscis or the law changes. The current version and effective date will remain on this page. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice through the service, account contact information, or another method appropriate to the change before it takes effect where required.
